Tang dynasty horse figures are among the most recognisable forms in classical Chinese art, and this statue follows their design language closely: an alert, arched neck, a richly draped saddle blanket carved with fine ornament and a poised stance on four strong legs. Cast in stone resin and finished in matte aged black, it shows subtle variation across the surface, much like old bronze or lacquered wood.
Standing on a solid rectangular base, it has the scale and presence of a true centrepiece. Place it on a console, sideboard, mantel or styled bookshelf, where it pairs naturally with warm neutrals, aged wood and other collected pieces. It is a fine choice for interiors drawn to Asian art history and classic, considered styling. Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
Its scale and detail mean it needs little else around it to make an impression.
